The All-on-4 procedure can differ depending on the specific brand of implant-supported dentures chosen. Here's a general step-by-step guide to the process:
Step 1: Begin by scheduling an initial consultation. During this visit, our dentist will evaluate whether you're a good candidate for implant-supported dentures. They will utilize 3D imaging to analyze your jawbone structure and determine the aesthetic and functional aspects of your new teeth, such as crown length and bite alignment.
Step 2: Our dentist will create a computer simulation of your mouth using the 3D imaging. This will help identify the optimal placement for each implant. At this stage, a surgical template may also be designed to guide the procedure.
Step 3: The surgery involves inserting the four implants. This step may also include additional treatments like tooth extractions and bone shaping. The implants will be topped with abutments and temporary teeth while the jawbone heals and gradually integrates with the implants. During recovery, a soft food diet is crucial to protect the osseointegration process.
Step 4: After about three months, the temporary teeth will be replaced with a permanent denture. By this time, recovery should be relatively quick with minimal discomfort.
